Saturday Recap
Another tough day of weather caused the final day of the Kenton County Fair to be canceled. Baby shows still went on as planned but all horse shows, tractor pulls and the rides were eventually shut down due to the rain and the impact of the rain on the grounds.
Here are a couple of the winners from Saturday’s shows.

Monday – July 20th
The first day of the 2009 Kenton County Fair had a number of events the crowds enjoyed. Weather was a concern early as rain sprinkled the fair grounds during the early evening hour. Skies eventually cleared and a beautiful night was enjoyed by all.
The events got underway with the crowning of a new Miss Teen Kenton County. Kristen Bach was awarded the trophy and will serve as our teen representative.
Miss Kenton County was also crowned on Monday Night. Jamie Neumeister will represent Kenton County for the 2009/2010 year.
While pageants were being decided the Barnyard Olympics were amusing the crowd at the horse arena. Events included egg walks, wheelbarrow races and obstacle courses. Teams stumbled and raced through multiple events and
impressed the crowd with their speed and grace. Directly following the barnyard olympics was the greased pig contest. This is always a crowd favorite and this year was no different.
If you enjoyed the barnyard olympics you may also want to join us again Friday for the Family Barnyard Fun Night. This will also take place on the horse track and will allow the kids to compete in various events.
There was plenty of action on the track Monday evening as well. The track was fast and frantic for the small car demolition derby. Crushing hits and flying dirt kept the crowd excited. We also introduced our first
Garden Tractor Demolition Derby which provided fun and good action. The eventual winner of the small car derby was Richard Daulton in a great finale to end the evening. Tuesday night is Big Car Demolition Derby so be and sure to come early and get your seat on the hill.
